Linking Entities
Connect monitors, incidents, and other resources to catalog entities to provide operational context.
Prerequisites

1. Link a Monitor to an Entity
When creating or editing a monitor:
- Navigate to Monitors and open a monitor’s settings
- Locate the Entity Relationships section
- Click Link Catalog Entity
- Select the relationship type (e.g., “Depends on”)

3. View Links on Entity Pages
Each entity detail page shows linked resources:
Linked Monitors section displays:
- Monitor name and URL
- Relationship type (shown from the entity’s perspective)
- 30-day uptime percentage
- Link to the monitor details
Active Incidents section displays:
- Incident name
- Priority and status
- Creation date
- Link to the incident
Result
Monitors and incidents are connected to catalog entities, providing context during operations and tracking the health of your services through the Catalog.
Why Linking Matters
When you link entities to monitors and incidents:
- Entity pages show health - Linked monitor status appears on entity details
- Incidents show context - Related services appear during incident investigation
- Status pages reflect reality - Entity health drives status page components
- Automations have context - Workflows can filter based on linked entities
