Filtering & Sorting

Quickly narrow down and organize your monitor list by status or behavior.

Upstat provides filtering and sorting options that help you stay focused—especially when managing a large number of monitors. You can filter by status and sort by a variety of useful fields.

Filtering by Status

At the top of the monitor list, you’ll see status-based filters:

  • All – Shows all monitors
  • Success – Only monitors currently in an Up state
  • Partial – Monitors where one or more regions are failing
  • Fail – Monitors currently in a Down state

Each filter shows a count so you can immediately gauge how many monitors are in each status.

Clicking a filter updates the monitor list in real time.

Sorting Options

You can sort monitors using the dropdown menu in the top right of the monitor list. Sort options include:

  • Created on – Sort by monitor creation date
  • Last updated – Sort by most recent config or status change
  • Response Avg – Sort by average response time (HTTP/HTTPS monitors only)

Each sort can be toggled between:

  • Oldest → Ascending
  • Newest → Descending

The current sort setting is clearly shown in the dropdown.

Combining Filters and Sort

Filtering and sorting can be used together for more focused workflows:

  • Show only Partial monitors, sorted by Response Avg
  • Review Failing monitors sorted by creation date
  • See all Success monitors, ordered by Last updated

This helps prioritize action and investigation efficiently.

Summary

  • Filter monitors by Up, Partial, or Down state
  • Sort by creation time, update time, or average response
